CFD Analysis of an O&G Platform Helideck

Helicopter is the primary means of transport in offshore oil and gas platforms. The purpose of this CFD analysis was to assess the impact of the vertical air turbulence on helicopter operations for safe landing. The helidecks elevation over the sea level was 36.78 m. In particular, the characteristics of this CFD study were: a wind speed of 19 m/s at 10 meters over the sea level or 21.64 m/s at the helideck height; 16 equally spaced wind directions.
